VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A Clark College building was evacuated as a precaution Thursday due to a gas leak near the campus.

Firefighters responded to the scene at around 11 a.m. and discovered a gas line had been hit during construction.

Northwest Natural Gas workers arrived to repair the leak.

Roads were closed in the area and Vancouver police worked to keep everyone a safe distance away.

The leak was stopped and the roads and campus building were open again by 12:30 p.m.
