Police searching for Vancouver carjacking suspect, car found in Camas

CAMAS, WA (KPTV) -

Vancouver Police are currently searching for a suspect after he stole a car from a woman and then abandoned the car in an Camas elementary school parking lot Friday afternoon.

Police said the carjacking happened in the parking lot of a Rite-Aid, located at 210 SE 136th Ave.

According to police, the woman had pulled in to the parking lot when a man approached her and demanded she give him her keys. The suspect did not display a weapon.

The woman was not injured.

Vancouver Police said the victim's phone was still in the car and they were able to track the car using the phones GPS. The car, a silver Honda Accord, was found abandoned in the Dorothy Fox Elementary parking lot, located at 2623 NW Sierra St. in Camas.

K9 units are currently searching for the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, 6' tall, "scraggly" hair. He was wearing a black hat and a black backpack.
