PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Many people around the world were shocked and saddened to learn of the news that musician and actor David Bowie had died at age 69.

Voodoo Doughnut, known for its unique flavor combinations and designs, payed tribute to the rock star in its own way, through pastry.

The Portland-based doughnut chain posted a series of photos on its FacebookTwitter and Instagram pages showing various Bowie-themed creations.

Voodoo has developed a reputation for baking up doughnuts to pay tribute to deceased public figures. In Feb. 2015, the company made a doughnut to honor former Trail Blazer Jerome Kersey after he died suddenly.
