MARION COUNTY, OR -

A Marion County woman is accused of killing her husband. Now, one of the couple's dogs is looking for a new home.

Investigators say Carolyn Dimatteo called 911 last month to say she shot her husband, Joseph.

Officers arrived at the trailer home and found his body. Carolyn was arrested and booked in to the Marion County Jail on the charge of murder.

One of the couple's dogs is a Doberman named Nitro. The dog was found shivering in the cold days after the shooting.

Nitro is now in foster care, being taken care of by a Sherwood woman who volunteers with Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue and she's hoping to find him a forever home.

"He was definitely well taken care of. There's no signs of any kind of abuse. An experienced Doberman owner or somebody that knows how to obedience train is always recommended, when he's in his element he's very passive," said Cindy Bigeh.
