PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A graphic making the rounds online claims that you can solve poverty in the United States by dividing up the record Powerball jackpot between all the country's citizens.

Sounds great, right?

It's too bad the math is all wrong.

The graphic reads, "Powerball 1.3 Billion ÷ U.S. Pop 300 Million = Everyone receives 4.33 mil," and includes the proclamation, "Poverty Solved!!"

If you divide 1.3 billion by 300 million, you do get 4.33, but that's $4.33, not $4.33 million.

It's a great thought, but the jackpot isn't big enough to solve poverty. Yet.
