PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The family of a man shot and killed in October are still looking for answers, and have raised $10,000 to encourage other to help.

Maurice Anthony Gatson, 45, died outside of the Pallas Club on Southeast Powell Boulevard just after midnight on Saturday, October 4, after being shot multiple times by an unknown assailant.

Despite patrol and K-9 officers searching the area, no suspects were able to be located.

Gatson’s family announced Tuesday that they have raised $10,000 as a reward for any new information that will lead to the arrest of those responsible for the killing.

"We have a 7 year old son and on a daily basis he asks, mom, why did dad have to die?  Is he coming back?  And it’s a hurtful situation," said LaShaunda Gatson, Gatson's wife. "He was more than just a person.  He was a father, a husband, a friend."

The Portland Police Bureau asks anyone with information to contact Detective Todd Gradwahl at 503-823-0991 or by email at todd.gradwahl@portlandoregon.gov or to connect with Detective Anthony Merrill at 503-823-4033 or by email at anthony.merrill@portlandoregon.gov.
