PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Portland Winterhawks hope to reward hockey fans with a victory on Wednesday, as well as a cool $1.5 billion.

The team is purchasing 1,000 Powerball tickets for Wednesday's drawing, and all fans at least 18 years old in attendance for Wednesday's game against the Regina Pats can register to get in on the jackpot.

The Winterhawks are calling it the world's biggest Powerball pool.

Fans will be able to sign up for free at one of the kiosks on the concourse of the Memorial Coliseum. A valid piece of ID will be required and only one entry will be allowed per person.

All lottery rules and regulations apply as part of the contest.

If one of the 1,000 Powerball tickets purchased by the Winterhawks is a winner, the jackpot, currently listed at $1.5 billion, will be evenly divided among all entrants who signed up at the game.

The game starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday and tickets are available online at Winterhawks.com and ticketmaster.com, or in person at the Rose Quarter box office or the team's ticket office at the Memorial Coliseum.
