SNOQUALMIE, WA (KPTV) -

Not everyone can say their marriage proposal involved sirens, fire trucks and hoses, but they were all a part of a Washington firefighter's surprise proposal to his girlfriend.

People.com reports Marshall Griffin, a volunteer firefighter with Snoqualmie Fire, came up with the elaborate ruse to pop the question to his girlfriend, Lia.

According to TAustin Photography, which recorded video of the proposal and posted it on Facebook, Lia was under the impression that the city was filming firefighter training as she looked on.

In the video, Griffin and his fellow firefighters enter the fire station tower, and while Griffin takes off his gear, the other men climb to the top and unfurl a banner that reads, "Lia will you marry me?"

Griffin comes out and gets on one knee, offering a ring to Lia, who nods yes.

The video of the proposal was a big hit on Facebook, racking up more than 26,000 views by Wednesday morning.
