Sisters man killed in crash on Hwy 20

DESCHUTES COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A man from Sisters was killed in a crash on Highway 20 at milepost 2.5 near Sisters on Sunday, according to Oregon State Police.

Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a report of a single car crash just before 3:30 a.m.

When crews arrived, they discovered a 1997 Subaru wagon had left the roadway and hit a tree.

The driver, Rodney Stambaugh, 54, died at the scene.

There were no passengers inside the vehicle, according to OSP.

According to police, Stambaugh was traveling east on the highway when the car left the roadway.

The road conditions at the time of the crash was black Ice, according to police.
