SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A Salem sex abuse suspect is accused of using Facebook to contact underage victims, according to Salem police.

Ioan Paul Oien, 20, was arrested Tuesday on charges including first-degree sex abuse, third-degree sex abuse and luring a minor.

Investigators said Oien contacted boys between 11 and 14 years old on Facebook, claiming to be a teen himself who was a friend of their friend.

Once he established a connection with the boys, police said he would introduce the idea of sexual activity with them.

Detectives said they have identified four victims at this point in the investigation and believe there could be more.

Further investigation revealed Oien has also posted ads on Craigslist offering free babysitting services using the name "Paul," according to police.

Anyone with information about Oien or this investigation is asked to contact Detective Jeff Staples at 503-588-6050, Ext. 7151.

Salem police advised parents to supervise the internet and social media activity of their children, watching for unsolicited approaches from unknown people and also monitoring the content of communications.

"Make sure that juveniles are only accepting invitations to connect from those known to them and do not engage in any type of activity and/or communications that are inappropriate or sexually oriented," a Salem Police Department release states.
