Wanted: Skateboarder set fire to homeless person's tent in NW Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police are looking for an arson suspect who set a homeless person's tent on fire in northwest Portland.

Police and firefighters responded to Northwest Irving Street between 6th and Broadway in the early morning hours of Dec. 5 and found a burning tent.

The fire was quickly put out and the person who was living in the tent was not injured.

Arson investigators were called to the scene after witnesses reported seeing someone pour liquid onto the tent and light it on fire.

The suspect is described as a male, race unknown, riding a skateboard with yellow wheels. The suspect was wearing a mask of some kind, along with a hat, dark jacket with red sleeves and a large backpack.

Crime Stoppers of Oregon is offering a cash reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. Tips can be left at 503-823-HELP or crimestoppersoforegon.com.
