New parking meters to be installed in NW Portland starting February

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Portland Bureau of Transportation announced about 360 parking meters will be installed along NW 21st and NW 23rd from Burnside to NW Vaughn.

The installation will being on Feb. 2 if the weather permits.

PBOT said the new parking meters will help better manage the parking supply in Northwest Portland.

Northwest Portland sees a high-demand for parking due to many businesses, religious and educational institutions, and residential buildings in the area.

PBOT said as part of the Northwest Parking Plan, the majority of parking meter revenue will return to the district to finance improvements to the local transportation infrastructure.
