VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A burglary suspect hiding in a Target store was caught by employees and subsequently arrested after running out of the store and hopping in a taxi, according to police.

Officers responded to the Target store on the 7800 block of Northeast Vancouver Plaza Drive at 10:19 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the suspect, identified as Jordan David Miller, 22, was found in a back storage area after the store had closed. He then ran around the store trying to find an exit, according to investigators, and eventually found an open door.

Police said he was then caught in the parking lot inside a taxi. Store employees identified the man in the taxi as the suspect who was in the store.

Miller was booked in the Clark County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary. Detectives said he is suspected in multiple other felony crimes throughout the Portland area ranging from robbery to theft at various chain stores.

Tigard Police Department detectives interviewed Miller on Wednesday night related to crimes in that area. Miller was identified as a suspect in the theft of items from the electronics department at the Target in Tigard at 10:15 p.m. Jan. 14. Police said he ran out of the store through an emergency exit. An employee told investigators a gun was visible in a pocket of the suspect's clothing.
