CLARK COUNTY, WA (KPTV) -

A Clark County charity is raising money to provide bullet and stab protective vests for K9 officers in Clark County.

According to the Clark County Sheriff's Office, Vested Interest in K9’s Inc. and the Tyger Family of Clark County have teamed up to raise funds to outfit the county’s two K9 officers, Jango and Ringo with the protective vests.

Their immediate goal is to raise $2,300, which would cover the cost of both vests.

The Clark County Sheriff’s office has lost multiple K9 service dogs due to line of duty deaths.

According to the sheriff's office, they have lost K9's in 1987, 1990, and in 2011.

Jango is a 3-year-old German Shepard, assigned to Deputy Sean Boyle who has been a handler with the Sheriff’s office since 2013. When off duty, Jango is content on hanging out in his wood box with cedar chips. He gets excited for work and taught himself how to open the patrol car to let himself in.

Ringo is a 4-year-old German Shepard assigned to Deputy Seth Brennan. When off duty, he loves to chase his ball in play in the snow, and is happiest when at work.
