CLACKAMAS COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A crash sent a truck into the Collawash River early Sunday morning on Forests Service Road 63 near Forest Service Road 45 east of Estacada.

According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, two people made it out, and one person is still missing.

Crews responded to the call at around 3:38 a.m., and the person who called said they came across the crash and drove 30 minutes to find a phone.

When responders arrived, they found one female, 19, of Tigard, on the bank near the road.

Another female, 15, was found stuck on the other side of the river.

Water rescue personnel used a rapid deployment craft to ferry across the river and rescue the 15-year-old female on the other side.

She was brought back without incident, and both females were taken to a local hospital and were not seriously injured.

Deputies said the vehicle, a light colored pickup, was completely submerged in the river

The current was very strong according to deputies, and water rescue personnel could not safely investigate the vehicle to see if anyone was trapped inside.

According to deputies, the 19-year-old female told them she was driving the vehicle when she lost control and went off the roadway.

She said the 15-year-old female was the middle passenger, and a male, 26, of Woodburn was in the front passenger seat.

According to deputies, the two females were able to get out from a window and swim to shore.

They did not see the male get out and believe he was still in the vehicle.

Search and Rescue crews searched the river banks for the male, but were unable to find him.

Plans are being made to get specialized divers to the scene on Monday to attempt to recover the vehicle and search for the missing male passenger
