LEBANON, OR (KPTV) -

A Taser was used on a man who led officers on a chase in a stolen car into the Walmart parking lot in Lebanon, according to police.

A caller reported a driver swerving in and out of traffic and passing dangerously on Highway 20 at 2:07 p.m. Sunday.

An officer located the car heading south near the intersection with Airport Road and attempted to imitate a traffic stop.

The vehicle, a burgundy and gray 2000 Subaru Outback, came back as stolen out of Bend on Jan. 21.

Police said the driver did not stop and continued into the Walmart parking lot. At that point police said the suspect stopped the car and ran away.

The officer chased him down and used his Taser to take the suspect into custody.

The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Ronnie Junior Magnus of Salem.

He was arrested on charges of reckless driving, attempt to elude, resisting arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and providing false information to an officer. He also had an Oregon State Parole Board warrant for his arrest.
