Missing Vancouver teen with special needs found safe

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

UPDATE: 9:30 a.m.- Edward Hawk's family said he has been found safe at Legacy Salmon Creek. He is being treated for hypothermia. 

According to his family Edward traveled about 12 miles from his home. 

Police said someone spotted Edward and called police. 

Edward's father told FOX 12 that Edward was a bit frighted but otherwise okay. 

The family said they hope to have him home within the next few hours.

Vancouver police are asking for help finding a 16-year-old non-speaking autistic teenager.

Edward Hawk was last seen at his house on the 11400 block of NE 9th St. in Vancouver around 9:30 p.m. Monday night.

His parents said they went to check on Edward in his room around 11:30 p.m. but he was nowhere to be found. 

The family said Edward has a history of wandering off and no foul play is suspected.

Edward has dark brown hair and is about 5 feet 10 inches and weighs 150 pounds.

He was last seen wearing tan pants, a dark colored jacket and grey colored shoes.
