CLACKAMAS COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Clackamas County Sheriffs Office K-9s will receive bullet and stab protective vests thanks to a charitable donation from a non-profit.

K-9s Kilo, Nero, Vito, Marco and Spencer will receive the vests, and they are being sponsored by an anonymous donor.

The vests were a donation from Vested Interest in K-9s Inc. The nonprofit organization was established in 2009 to assist law enforcement agencies with the body armor for K-9s.

The Clackamas Co. K-9s will receive the vests in about 8 to 10 weeks. They will be embroidered with the phrase, "Proud to Support One Who Serves and Protects."

The story was updated after the sheriff's office later announced that K-9 Spencer would also be receiving body armor.
