A group of people gathered at a Burns hotel, to honor the life of LaVoy Finicum on Wednesday after he was killed during a confrontation with FBI and police.

Many people who huddled together outside the Silver Spur Motel say they knew LaVoy, and are angry about what happened to him.

"LaVoy Finicum was killed in cold blood, in ambush. He was a good man, a righteous man. Someone needs to be held accountable for his death," said Diana Holtels.

A lot of people at the vigil said they simply wanted to share their support during this difficult time.

"I've been studying and reading up on this since it happened. Everything hes said or put online is truth, 100 percent agree with the motion," said Tony Atencio.

The group of several dozens of people say they wanted to honor the former spokesperson for the armed militant group occupying the towns wildlife refuge after they heard from family that he was the one killed in the shoot out on Highway 395.

After some prayer and words said among the group, they took to the streets of Burns. They waved signs, holding their candles, making sure everyone out on Main Street knew and understood the sacrifice they say LaVoy made for the cause. A sacrifice they hope to honor.

After the walk around town, the group came back to the hotel to pay respects one more time.
