OAK GROVE, OR (KPTV) -

A suspect involved in a standoff Thursday in the 3700 block of Southeast Concord Road in Oak Grove has died.

According to Sergeant Dan Kraus of the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect was alive when he was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Sgt. Kraus also noted that the incident was an officer involved shooting, but said the suspect's action led to shots being fired.

Late Thursday, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said that the suspect had died at the hospital.

Deputies, along with the SWAT team, negotiators and behavioral health workers, had all been involved with the situation since early in the morning Thursday.

In a tweet, the Sheriff’s Office noted that the teams used “less lethal efforts” to end the standoff.
