ALBANY, OR (KPTV) -

A man was arrested in Albany Friday accused of stealing packages from homes.

At about 1 p.m., surveillance video from a home in the 2000 block of Southwest Kodiak Avenue captured a suspect taking a package that had been left on their front porch.

Surveillance video showed a white male pull up in front of the home in a white Volvo sedan.

Police said the box was later found discarded and empty in the area of Southwest Pacific Boulevard and Morse Lane.

A short time later, a caller reported an open package in the roadway on Southwest 53rd Avenue.

Police discovered that the emptied package had been previously delivered to a residence in the 1500 block of Southwest Black Bear Court.

At about 3 p.m., an Albany Patrol Sergeant spotted a white Volvo and stopped it on the 1200 block of Southeast Geary Street.

According to police, the vehicle and driver matched those seen in the surveillance video.

The suspect, Dustin Halvorsen, 31, was taken into custody and charged with theft, criminal trespass, and offensive littering according to police.

Property from both packages were located inside the vehicle Halvorsen was driving.
