When Brian Tashima’s then 12-year-old son asked him to write a book, the author decided to create a hero. In “The Secret of the Songshell” the main character is a guitar playing teenager, who uses his autism as magic. Tashima says he based the character on his son, hoping to encourage others on the autism spectrum to embrace their differences. A portion of the book series benefits Autism Empowerment. Students at Beaverton High School were watching Grease LIVE Sunday night. “Lazer Team,” a crowd-funded sci-fi comedy by the people behind “Rooster Teeth,” has already sold $1 million in ticket pre-sales. According to Deadline.com the producers are crowd-sourcing the theatrical release.
