GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

A man guilty of raping a woman who previously had a restraining order against him was sentenced to more than eight years in prison.

Christopher Trafton, 21, pleaded guilty last week to charges of first-degree rape and first-degree burglary, both constituting domestic violence.

Trafton was arrested last May in Gresham. According to court documents, Trafton broke into the victim's apartment on Northeast Halsey Street by breaking the back window.

After she went inside, Trafton confronted her, broke her cell phone and said he was going to enjoy hurting her, according to court documents.

Police said Trafton assaulted the woman for two hours.

The woman managed to call police and when officers arrived, court documents state Trafton told them, "You'll have to come in and kill me."

Court records show the woman's restraining order against Trafton had expired the previous month.

Additional charges including assault, strangulation, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing were dismissed as part of his plea agreement.

Trafton was sentenced to eight years and four months in prison, with credit for time served. He was also sentenced to 20 years post-prison supervision and ordered to pay restitution, with the amount to be determined at a later date.
