PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A boarded up vacant home in SE Portland was damaged by a fire Monday night.

Portland Fire & Rescue responded to the house fire around 6:10 p.m.

When crews arrived to the home, located in the 5000 block of SE 88th Ave., they found black smoke coming from the front of the home.

PF&R said as crews entered the home, the fire increased in size rapidly and started burning the trees on the side of the house.

An electrical line also burned through, fell to the ground and became a hazard to the crews.

PF&R said the incident commander ordered all crews out of the home due to unsafe conditions. Crews put the fire out from outside the home.

Crews were able to get the fire under control about an hour after arriving.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
