HAPPY VALLEY, OR (KPTV) -

Detectives are searching for a man driving a Mercedes who is wanted in connection to at least six separate package thefts from porches in the Happy Valley area.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office released surveillance video Wednesday showing two of the crimes.

Investigators have dubbed the suspect, "the Clackamas porch pirate," and said he appears to follow delivery trucks to homes and then swipes the packages.

A woman in his car then rips open the boxes in the back seat.

Aaron Aab, one of the suspect's recent victims, managed to record the theft with his home security cameras.

"My wife was asking where the package was, and I went to look in the mail, and it wasn’t there.  And then I looked on the cameras and that’s when I saw him pull up and take it," said Aab. "I was angry.  I mean that’s our property.  And someone just came onto our property and took it.  It’s just kind of frustrating."

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, around 6' tall and 180 pounds. His car is a green Mercedes sedan from around 1994-1995 with no license plates and a trip permit.

Police are seeking tips from the public in this investigation. Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has other details is asked to call the tip line at 503-723-4949 or go to http://web3.clackamas.us/contact/tip.jsp and refer to cases 16-1689 and 16-2608.

Surveillance cameras helped lead to the arrest of two people accused of stealing packages from porches in Clackamas County in December.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office urges people to have packages delivered to secure locations or in person.
