Police: Wanted suspects arrested after chase into Chinook Winds parking lot

LINCOLN CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A police chase ended in the Chinook Winds Casino Resort parking lot with the arrests of three people. 

Lincoln City officers attempted to contact people in a vehicle parked illegally in a handicapped zone near the casino at 1:15 a.m. Thursday.

After activating the emergency lights and getting out of their patrol vehicle, the officers said the driver pulled out of the parking lot and hit speeds up to 50 mph.

Police said the suspects entered the Chinook Winds parking lot and the driver ran away toward the beach. Three other people in the car were detained by police.

The driver was caught after a short chase.

Tyler Raleigh Smith, 29, of Newport, was arrested on charges including attempt to elude. Smith had a felony warrant out of Lincoln County for possession of methamphetamine.

Two of the passengers in the car were also arrested. Jacob Matthew Ryan Anderson, 27, of Portland, was charged with possession of meth and a probation violation detainer was placed on him from Multnomah County.

Haley Ann Lynch, also known as Alexis Tchelle Bills, 35, of Logsden, had a felony warrant out of Lane County for failing to appear in court on possession of heroin charges.

The other female passenger was determined to be the owner of the vehicle. She was released at the scene with no charges.
