Man dies after car crashes into bus in southeast Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man has died after a car crashed head-on into a TriMet bus in southeast Portland. 

The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday near Southeast Mt. Scott Boulevard and Southeast 104th Avenue. According to police, preliminary information indicated that a Toyota, which was traveling down the hill on Mt. Scott Boulevard, crossed the center line and crashed into a TriMet bus, which was traveling up the hill. 

Police said the man who was driving the Toyota, identified as Ronnie Bernard Davis Senior, 45, was transported to a Portland hospital, where he later died. 

The driver of the TriMet bus was taken to a Clackamas County hospital with non life-threatening injuries and has been released. One passenger who was on board the bus was not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to Portland Police.
