PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A Portland snowboarder has brought home the gold after winning at the Special Olympics X-Games.

Special Olympics athlete Henry Meece struck gold at the X-Games in Aspen. Meece teamed up with Olympic snowboarder Chris Klug to compete in the first Unified Snowboarding Dual Slalom Race and won the gold medal.

This is the second time the 26-year-old athlete has won a gold medal, and he has worked hard to make it happen.

"I was wishing to get that second gold and my wish came true."

The Korean born 2009 Grant High School graduate is now a two-time defending Special Olympics X-Games snowboard gold medalist.

"It doesn't feel like I have a disability but I really do."

After winning the gold in Aspen, Meece gave the crowd quite a show.

"I did the robotic dance and stuff."

Meece says he’s not going to rest on his laurels, and plans to go for a ‘three-peat’ at next year’s games, but first he hopes to place at the Oregon State Winter Games at Mt. Bachelor in March.
