PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A woman was arrested Saturday afternoon after leading police on a traffic pursuit in North Portland.

Police said East Precinct officers responded just before 12 p.m. Saturday to the area of Northeast 70th Avenue and Sandy Boulevard on the report of a reckless driver in a white SUV.

Officers received information that a witness heard someone in the vehicle saying something about a gun, and that the driver seemed to be trying to run people off the road.

Another witness reported seeing a young person in the front seat crying.

According to police, North Precinct officers spotted the vehicle near north Interstate Avenue and Lombard Street, where the suspect rammed a patrol car then sped out of the area.

Officers pursued the suspect in the area of North Cecelia Street and Portsmouth Avenue, where officers were able to spin the vehicle out and get the suspect stopped.

Officers took the driver, a 28-year-old woman, into custody.

Police said three children were in the vehicle, approximately ages 3,5, and 11 years old.

No officers or community members were injured, according to police.
