TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

31 year old Colin Michael Lyle was arrested on several charges after police say he assaulted an Uber driver and stole his car.

Tigard Police say Lyle was being given a ride home about 10:30 last night when he began assaulting the Uber driver.

The driver pulled over at the 7-11 at Hall Boulevard and 99W to try and get help.  That's when police say Lyle stole the car and drove off.

Lyle was later found lying on the road beside the car on SW Sattler St near his home. He then ran inside his home briefly before surrendering.

Police are not releasing his blood alcohol level but say it was significantly over the legal limit. Neither he nor the driver was injured.

Lyle is charged with DUII, harassment, reckless driving an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was booked at the Washington County Jail and then later released.

He is due in court February 18th.

Court records show he was convicted of DUII in 2006 but received diversion.
