PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A car-to-car shooting investigation put Benson High School in a precautionary lockout Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to Northeast 24th and Sandy Boulevard at 12:26 p.m.

Witnesses reported someone in one car shooting at another car.

Investigators said they located evidence of gunfire at Northeast 24th and Irving Street. A vehicle found parked near 12th and Irving may be related to the shooting, according to police.

Police said no gunshot victims were immediately located at the scene and none had arrived at any area hospitals.

Benson High School was placed in a lockout due to its proximity to the shooting, but police said the school does not appear to have any direct connection to the case.

Based on the initial information, the Gang Enforcement Team was called to the scene to investigate.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has other information is asked to call the police non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.
