Gresham toddler follows family tradition down the slopes

Snowboarding has been in Randy Strome’s family for generations.

His family owns Wiredsport, a winter action sports company located in Gresham.

Strome says it is the only business he knows, and that he wants to pass it on.

That is why he bought a snowboard for his 13-month-old grandson Carson Vizenor when he was eight months old.

“We got him a snowboard almost as a gag,” Strome said. “It immediately became his favorite thing.”

He took his grandson to Mount Hood Meadows last week, recording the experience in what has become a YouTube hit.

Strome said he hoped to pass along the passion for the sport to his grandson.

"Our whole goal is to get him in this stuff really early, before he even remembers it," he said.
