Remembering Christopher Johnson with CCA

The family of Christopher Johnson looks for hope even after tragedy.

Christopher was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at only 18 months old, but the team at the children’s Cancer Association was there for the boy and his family.

The CCA matched Sue Avar with Christopher to be his "Chemo Pal," helping to bring relief to his parents and fun to Christopher.

“We'd see other parents at Doernbecher with Chemo Pals too, and how happy those kids were,” Stephen Johnson said. “Sometimes, us, as parents, just need a little time.  And when Sue came he was FOCUSED on Sue!  And what Sue brought! And what was in that bag!!"

Christopher also loved CCA’s MyMusicRx program.

CCA Volunteers even helped Christopher’s family put together a special birthday party after they were told he only had days left to live.

Christopher's parents are now helping the CCA in his honor. They've donated musical instruments and toys, encourage you to get involved, too.

You can help the CCA right now by donating to the V-Day for CCA campaign.
