A 20-year-old woman was sentenced to more than three years in prison for a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian crossing a Gresham street.

Miranda Ashley Calvin pleaded guilty in court Wednesday to charges of criminally negligent homicide and hit-and-run causing injuries.

She was arrested in April 2015 after hitting 49-year-old Jerrie Horning near the 4800 block of West Powell Boulevard.

Investigators said Horning was crossing Powell Boulevard in an unmarked crosswalk near Southwest Junction Place at around 8:40 p.m. when she was hit by a 2009 Mercedes Benz driven by Calvin.

Witnesses said the car was going 50 mph and did not appear to slow down after hitting the woman, according to court documents.

Officers were alerted to the location of the car about 15 minutes later parked at the Cedarville Inn on West Powell Loop, about a half-mile from the crash location.

A probable cause affidavit states surveillance video showed the car pull into the parking lot and a woman with black hair running from the car into a wooded area.

The affidavit states the car had dealer plates registered to JBC Imports. The following afternoon, an employee of JBC Imports contacted police and said he had received a "hysterical" call from Calvin the previous evening saying she had just hit someone.

The caller said he had been at a party with Calvin before the crash and that they were drinking alcohol, according to court documents.

Calvin was initially arraigned on charges of first-degree manslaughter, reckless driving, hit-and-run involving injuries and unlawful possession of cocaine.

Amended charges were filed in conjunction with her plea deal Wednesday.

Calvin was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.
