Fallen Seaside officer to be awarded Medal of Ultimate Sacrifice

SEASIDE, OR (KPTV) -

Sergeant Jason Goodding, who was shot and killed last Friday in Seaside, will be awarded the Medal of Ultimate Sacrifice.

The Governor's Commission on the Law Enforcement Medal of Honor voted unanimously to award Sgt. Goodding the medal.

Governor Brown will present the medal to Sgt. Goodding's wife at the memorial service being held at the Seaside Convention Center on Friday, Feb. 12.

A motorcade procession will begin Friday at 10:45 a.m. It starts at Camp Rilea Armed Forces Training Center and ends at the Seaside Convention Center, where the memorial service will be held.

The public is invited to attend both of these events.
