Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Oregon City.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 19000 block of Falcon Drive at 3:48 p.m. Thursday.  When officers arrived, they found a man had been shot and killed inside the home.

Police say it's possibly a case of domestic violence, and officers are talking with a woman who may be involved.

"My sister-in-law had come over to pick up my son and she said there was someone - a neighbor - being arrested, so we stepped outside and saw her getting put into a police car," neighbor Megan Melonuk said.

Neighbors describe the couple at the center of the investigation as older, nice people who kept to themselves and have lives in the neighborhood for years.

Neighbors say they've never seen police at their home before.

"It's pretty scary," Melonuk added.  "I mean, it was just a few doors down and we have kids that are out in the front yard playing a lot.  They're pretty shaken up."

Police gathered outside the home well into the evening Thursday, meeting in a mobile command center parked on the street and gathering evidence inside the home.

So far, they haven't released any information about what led to the shooting, or the identities of those involved.

"It's weird, because you don't expect something like this to happen in your neighborhood, you know?  And especially that close," said another neighbor, who asked that her name not be used.  "I'm sorry for the family, you know?  It's a shame that something like this has to happen, and why, I don't know."
