OREGON CITY, OR (KPTV) -

Police have arrested one woman who they say was involved in the shooting and killing of an Oregon City man Thursday afternoon.

Oregon City police responded to a possible domestic violence incident on Falcon Drive around 4 p.m. Thursday.

Officers said they found 59-year-old Joseph Ben Peterson dead inside the home from an apparent gunshot wound.

Around 1 a.m. Friday morning, police said they arrested 56-year-old Lisa Marie Peterson. She is charged with murder.

Neighbors around the area said they had never seen anything like this before.

"It's pretty scary," said neighbor Megan Melonuk.  "I mean, it was just a few doors down and we have kids that are out in the front yard playing a lot.  They're pretty shaken up."

Other homeowners said the Petersons seemed like a nice couple and were shocked that they were possibly involved.

"It's weird, because you don't expect something like this to happen in your neighborhood, you know?  And especially that close," said another neighbor, who asked that her name not be used.  "I'm sorry for the family, you know?  It's a shame that something like this has to happen, and why, I don't know."

Ms. Peterson is being held in the Clackamas County Jail.
