Senate approves minimum wage increase in Oregon

SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Oregonians could soon be seeing more money in their pockets.

The Oregon Senate has approved a bill Thursday which would increase the minimum wage.

SB 1532 establishes a tiered system for determining minimum wage depending on the location of an employer.

The bill would increase the minimum wage to as much as $14.75 an hour over the next six years.

Now, bill heads to the Oregon House.
