KING CITY, OR (KPTV) -

An apartment fire in King City early Sunday morning has displaced eleven people, according to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.

Crews responded to a fire alarm just after midnight at the Riverwood Heights Apartments in the 12000 block of SW Fischer Road.

The manual alarm was pulled by a tenant who spotted a third-story balcony engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to quickly knock down the bulk of the flames on the balcony and in the apartment, but the fire spread into the attic, and eventually to the roof.

Firefighters worked for nearly 50 minutes to ensure the fire was out by extinguishing hot spots from the roof and pulling ceiling from inside apartments.

Ten adults and one child were displaced by the fire, according to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.

Officials said there were no injuries from the fire.

A fire investigator determined that the fire started on a balcony, but it's unclear exactly how it started.

The fire remains under investigation.
