Thousands of people lost power Monday afternoon when a crash near Glencoe High School caused a car to slam into a pole.

Police said a driver pulling out of the high school's parking lot at around 3:40 p.m. Monday failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle on Northwest Glencoe Road.

The crash caused one of the cars to hit a power pole, sending power lines across the road.

Northbound lane on Glencoe Road is open. Southbound traffic is being controlled by flaggers.

There were no reports of injuries. Police are investigating and it was not clear if anyone would be cited.

No information was released about the drivers involved in the crash.

More than 4,000 people in the area lost power after the crash, according to Portland General Electric. PGE reported that power was not expected to be fully restored until 9:30 p.m. Monday.
