KEIZER, OR (KPTV) -

Police have identified the 28-year-old man who was shot and killed outside the Starbucks at Keizer Station.

Police said Jerrid Brooks Goodpaster of Salem was found seriously injured in the parking lot on the 2500 block of Jorie Lane Northeast at 6:36 p.m. Sunday.

He was taken to Salem Hospital and later pronounced dead.

The shooting is being investigated as a homicide. Keizer Police Department detectives said Tuesday there is no reason to believe this was a random incident or that the public is in any danger.

However, police did not release any further details about the investigation.

No suspects have been arrested in connection to the shooting.

Witnesses said the violence seemed to come out of nowhere Sunday evening. One man told FOX 12 he saw people screaming and running around the parking lot, with one person giving CPR to the victim.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the lead investigator, Detective Arsen Avetisyan at 503-390-3713, Ext. 3514.
