REDMOND, OR (KPTV) -

A 39-year-old mother of three is charged with sex abuse involving a teenager.

Sally Mae Smith of Redmond was charged Tuesday in Deschutes County District Court with two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, as well as one count each of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and online sexual corruption of a child in the first degree.

Deschutes County District Attorney John Hummel said the charges relate to sexual contact between Smith and a 16-year-old student at Ridgeview High School.

Smith has three children, including a student at that school, according to Hummel.

Smith's bail was set at $30,000. She is due back in court Feb. 23.

"The allegations against Ms. Smith are serious and disturbing. Injuring a child so you can live out a perverted fantasy is intolerable. If a jury agrees with me that Ms. Smith did indeed commit these acts, I’ll seek a significant penalty," Hummel said in a statement.
