PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man accused of throwing a homemade firebomb at a local business has been captured.

Kim Chong is accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail in broad daylight, damaging a southeast Portland hardware store.

Chong faced a judge for the first time Tuesday, and was arraigned on charges of arson, harassment and possession of a destructive device.

The investigation started last Thursday around 4:30 p.m. That's when Portland firefighters claim Chong threw the Molotov cocktail at the Ace Hardware off Southeast 122nd Avenue.

Staff at the hardware store showed Fox 12 the surveillance footage from that day which they said caught chong walking past their doors that afternoon.

Investigators say the firebomb he hit the outside wall of the business, and while it caused some damage to the building, luckily no one was hurt.

Investigators haven't released any possible motive in the case yet. Chong is due back in court next week.
