WILSONVILLE, OR (KPTV) -

Clackamas County deputies have one person in custody after they were involved in a wrong-way chase that ended near Wilsonville late Tuesday night.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies had originally tried to pull over the driver of a stolen car on southbound I-5 near Wilsonville around 10:15 p.m.

The driver, 50-year-old Arthur Lane, refused to stop and took off at high speeds the wrong way down I-5, according to Clackamas County officials.

Deputies said they pursued the Lane at speeds over 100 miles an hour.  Eventually Lane ran off the road and abandoned the car near the Baldock Rest Area. He and his passenger, 43-year-old Shannon Madison, took off on foot.

K-9 deputies and their handlers searched the area, found the two suspects, and took Lane into custody.

Madison was not arrested but taken to the hospital for an ankle injury she sustained while running from the car.

More information will be posted as soon as it is available.
