PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

In court documents filed Wednesday, Shawna Cox, one of the occupiers of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge now facing federal charges, is counter-suing the federal government and asking for damages of $666,666,666,666.66.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Stacie Beckerman agreed to release Cox while her case goes through the court system.

In the counter-suit, Cox claims she is a “victim, witness and informant to extremely serious public corruption and government oppression.” She continues that she was just coming to help “economically vulnerable individuals” being persecuted by the federal government.

Cox contends that the legal profession, driven by law schools and federal and state bar associations, is trying to convert the government to socialism and communism as a way to set themselves up as a noble ruling class.

Cox calls the occupation of the refuge an attempt at "Hostile Adverse Possession" and a legal way to dispute "clouded land titles," citing the “Equal Footing Doctrine.” She also claims that neither she nor the other occupiers interfered with federal employees from coming to work at the refuge, instead saying the staff did not come in “out of guilt.”

Cox also singles out many people she believes were involved in the acts against her, including Harney County Judge Steve Grasty, Sheriff Dave Ward, Judge Ann Aiken, Gov. Kate Brown and state senator Cliff Bentz.

Cox, who claims that she is a “sovereign citizen” rather than a “subject of corporate States of America,” said that she objects to “each and every judge who is a state or federal Bar Association member from presiding over my case.”

The damage amount she is seeking is reflective of what she described as “works of the devil,” though Cox said she reserved the right to amend the suit and claim for damages.

A federal judge has dismissed the claim.
