A 20-year-old man accused of multiple sex crimes is believed to have met the underage girls during his senior year of high school and then continued to contact them after graduating, according to Gresham police.

Armando Isabel Fleming, 20, was arrested Tuesday morning at his Gresham home.

Investigators said he had inappropriate contact with at least three teenage girls who are more than four years younger than him.

Detectives said he sent and solicited sexually explicit photos over smartphones, took significant steps to meet the victims and engaged in sexual contact with two of them.

According to court documents, he knew the age of one of the victims because he was with her when they celebrated her 15th birthday. A probable cause affidavit states he also sent numerous sexually explicit messages to girls on Facebook, including one that said, "Stay with me, I'll take you to school."

Police are concerned Fleming may have had or tried to have similar contact with other underage girls.

"This case brings to light a growing concern," said Detective Adam Wright. "Abusers using smartphones, apps and social media to connect with victims."

Wright said the case highlights the importance for parents and guardians to check their children's devices to see who they're communicating with and what they are talking about.

"Even if kids think it's invading their privacy, it's really done to keep them safe," he said.

Anyone who believes Fleming has had illegal or concerning contact with them or their children is asked to call the Gresham Police tip line at 503-618-2719.

Fleming is facing charges of third-degree rape, second-degree sex abuse, online sexual corruption of a child, using a child in a sexual display and luring a minor.
