BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

Beaverton High School is off lockout and classes are back to normal after an incident early Monday.

According to Officer Mike Rowe with the Beaverton Police Department, the lockout was tied to a report of a trespassed student who was reported to have been seen with a gun in his pocket walking near the school.

Officers located the subject, and determined that the weapon he was seen with was a BB gun.

Officers did not believe the students or staff were in danger.

During a lockout all doors going into the school are locked while classes continue normally inside. Schools will use this safety protocol when there is a potentially dangerous situation near their facility.
