A Portland woman faced her attacker in court, five months after he was accused of following her home and sexually assaulting her.

On Monday, Omar Solano Villanueva, 29, pleaded guilty to the crime in court.

Solano Villanueva sat quietly in court, as the woman he's accused of raping read out loud how the experience affected her life.

"Losing control of my body, having my boundaries violated shook me to the core and left me stunned. I was a bit of a zombie for the weeks after, breaking into tears often."

According to police, Solano Villanueva met the 28-year-old woman in a downtown Portland bar in September. The two parted ways around 2:30 a.m., and detectives say Solano Villanueva likely followed the woman home.

The victim told investigators she woke up to him sexually assaulting her.

"The few short, terrible minutes lived on and the trauma did not stop there. Seven hours of being poked and prodded and questioned in the emergency room. I felt dirty for weeks and couldn't seem to take enough showers."

The woman went on to say she hopes Solano Villanueva will grow from this experience and shares what he's learned with other young men.

"I won't apologize that you're facing these consequences. I pray that this justice system will do its job for all."

As part of Solano Villanueva's plea agreement, he'll serve 4 years in prison, with 10 years post prison supervision.

He will also have to register as a sex offender.
