BAKER CITY, OR (AP) -

The Discovery Channel show "Gold Rush" is planning to film segments in northeastern Oregon this year.

The Baker City Herald reports that the popular reality TV series will film segments at a placer mining operation in southern Baker County. The show posted a sneak peek video on Friday featuring the mine, which is near Bridgeport.

Baker County Commissioner Mark Bennett says the production should bring an economic boost with it, as miners and support staff such as caterers will potentially be able to work with the television crew.

Baker County has been featured for its mining on television before. SyFy channel's "Ghost Mine" had two seasons made in and around Sumpter in 2013.
