OSP arrests three in Klamath Falls for kidnapping, abuse of family member

KLAMATH FALLS, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police detectives arrested three Klamath Falls residents Monday after a family member claimed they had tied her up then beat and sexually assaulted her.

Florence Marie Raley, 56, Melissa Ann Shanholtzer, 24, and John Sterling Martin, 29, all face multiple charges in the case.

According to the OSP, the victim was committed to the State Hospital in Salem by Court Order, but when she was admitted she had severe injuries. She was immediately transferred to Salem Hospital in critical condition.

The victim told investigators that while she was in the care of the three suspects, she was “bound, beaten, forced fed and sexually assaulted.”

All three suspects face kidnapping, assault and conspiracy charges. Shanholtzer and Raley also face a count a criminal mistreatment each, and Raley, who was related to the victim by marriage, also faces counts of tampering, coercion and unlawful sexual acts.
